Ever since I first started wearing makeup I’ve ALWAYS used cheapy makeup. Like, the cheapiest of cheap. I only buy things that are on sale, and I literally don’t even pay the slightest bit of attention to what I am putting on my face. What I really need is something to cover up the redness/severe dark circles under & around my eyes, the redness on & around my nose & chin, and to cover up the little bit of acne I get every so often without causing shininess or looking like I’m wearing a lot of makeup. I want it to look natural, fresh & clean. But then I also would like a bit of bronzer & blush but I really honestly don’t know how to apply it properly. & then I’m good with my eyes, I have a routine down pat that I’m happy with but the rest…I’m a mess.
Currently my routine is to glob a whole lot of 5 dollar cover-up all over my face and then two layers on & around my eyes (evskin analyzer deviceen on my eyelids bc they get red) to cover up all the darkness, brush on a lot of cheap bronzer everywhere, do my eyes, and then put blush on. It doesn’t look that great and it never lasts. By the end of the day my dark circles are back and I look washed out and the redness everywhere is again visible.
So basically, I’ve decided to go splurge on GOOD QUALITY makeup & brushes but I just have no idea where to start. So if someone could tell me what a good routine for me would be, where to buy the makeup & brushes, and what brand and everything they are & how to apply it properly, THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!!!!
Thank you so much, and I’m sorry for the lengthiness of this post!
I will pick a best answer! ๐ ๐

Maikang There is so much to tell.
A great way to find out how to use makeup properly is to go on YouTube and search makeup.
Michelle Phan is really popular, but I find that sometimes she does her makeup un-evenly.
But I still like her.
I like to go to Pixiwoo. Some of their makeup tutorials are unwearable, but a lot you can actually wear and you can learn a lot from them because they are professional makeup artists that have been in the business, successfully, for many years. Also MakeupGeekTV is a really good channel to look at, she has a LOT of how to’s.
Also I go to lisa Eldridge (lisaeldridgedotcom). Her tutorials and how to’s are really good and she is also a professional makeup artist that has done many people like Katy Perry and Christina Ricci.
Lisa has a video for covering up acne and blemishes and so far it’s the best video I’ve seen for that problem. It looks VERY natural and I know you will get a lot of help covering up.
There are many other makeup gurus on YouTube, but those are my favorite.
All of the channels I told you about will definitely help you on all of your questions, guarantee.
I’ve actually watched all the videos that you are having trouble on.
Trust me, the videos will help you out a TUN!
Also they will show you products they like and also brushes. I would actually advise going to Sephora or MAC for brushes. Sephora is more afordable, but MAC has a variety of brushes.
Good luck and I hope you learn from the people on YouTube! ๐skin analyzer
Maikang Ok, start off by heading to my youtube channel sweety, www.youtube.com/JanessaBessBeauty
Loof for the video labeled make up kit for beginners. This will be your jumping point. Take a look at the products I have notice they’re a mix of drug store brand and high quality. These are you basics and what you’ll need for everyday make up application. The rest is just for fun and to try new looks.
Then look at some of my videos. ( I know some of the older ones are worse quality, but bear with me) Many of them are simple looks that are meant to be worn naturally and for everyday.
A list of good brands:
Maybelline New York (Loose Powder, Liquid Eyeliner)
Smashbox (Mascara)
MAC (Concealer and Brushes, Creme Eyeliner, Pain Pots)
Urban Decay (Primer Potion is a must!!)
Coastal Scents (Online but their 88 color palettes are excellant quality for a low price)
I hope this has helped and if you want more tips and tutorials be sure to subscribe to my channel and you can totally message me there if you want any further help.skin analyzer
Maikang haha. well im not too into certain specific brands. i go to sephora and i just try out the different kinds of make up on my hand (not on my face because the lord knows who has been trying on that stuff!). as for your routine, let me give you a virtual whack. just kidding ๐ but seriously, do NOT go for cheapness when it comes to your face. i suggest that you use a bit of concealer (maybeline new york has a good concealer with a wand. mac also has good cover ups but they are REALLY expensive :D) for the redness and darkness. do NOT go with foundation. its useful, sure, but it will seriously damage your skin if you use too much and you dont wash REALLY good and if you dont get some seriously HIGH quality foundation. i know so many other girls who have ruined their skins because they put foundation on to cover up redness, darkness, and acne (and it wasn’t even a lot of acne!). they became more easily prone to break outs and their pores got really bad. the foundation stays in your pores, no matter how hard or long you wash. it lasts even until your in your 50s. trust me. you don’t want to do that. i also suggest you dont just glob on whatever. you have to take time (which i find a hassle so i just don’t wear make up on a regular basis ๐ lazy meeee). i suggest that you put some of the concealer on and then focus on your good parts. if you make your good parts stand out a bit more, it will kind of take over the people’s eyes and draw them to the parts you want them to look at. if you glob make up, it draws attention. bronzer is fine but apply it sparingly. you dont want to make it look too fake. i suggest putting a bit of bronzer on the hollows of your cheeks (suck your cheeks in and make a fishy face and put it on the hollowed parts of your cheeks) and/or put a small amount of blush on the apples of your cheeks (you know. the bump part? the thing that sticks out a bit more? your cheekbones? whatever you want to call them :)). hope this helped!skin analyzer
