I’m doing this as a sort of survey for one of my analyzer papers and this question sort of bugs me. I’ve experienced this first hand as I am attracted to white men, but I find it hard to date white guys because they overlook me.

My white male friends say that they will date a black woman who has light skin is skinny/healthy, active, well educated, straightens her hair (doesnt have weird hairstyles everyday or at least is natural) wears minimal makeup, speaks properly, is preserved, dresses nicely and doesn’t live in the ghetto. Is this true for you?

What are your reasons? I would prefer not to see reasons such as “Black women look like apes” as this does not really phase me, I see this as ignorance and I guess your preference is not with us which you can just simply state. But I am looking for more in depth reasons. So for you personally, why wouldn’t you date a black girl. And if you do, do you have a type?

Maikang All that you described are features of an Euroean… Black women are not european. It is reasonable that white men are interested in european features because that is what he was surrounded by and was taught, at a young age, that that’s beauty. Instead of writing an analyzer on what white men are interested in ( because that is a form of self hate), write an analyzer on what they find attractive about you… but be the best version of yourself before getting yourself in the dating game. Come on girl… There is no science in “interracial dating”, stop tryna’ make it one.

Anyway if this question is directed at everybody… then myself, I am multiracial, and I would date any girl who I found attractive and had feelings for… and my favorite hairstyle would be natural afro-coily hair on women. On average I think Black girls the prettiest.

There is no reason why someone shouldn’t wanna date a “Black girl”. If someone gievs you some dumb wanna-be pseudoscience answer… I’ll prolly laugh real hard. I see some people tryna make this a sciecne, like, “this pairing works well, but that one… it ain’t last”, or… “I like dating this race because they good at sex but for marriage it simply wouldn’t work because sector hash## equate 4k = 17 – pq” some random crap that ain’t even make sense.

All I am saying is… not everyone is gunna find you attractive in general. But when someone needs to try to make up some dumb answer with some crazy theory, lol…

Some people might be “wary” of being in an interracial relationship themselves with a certain “race” because of all the stereotypes they here and all the… as I said, wannabe pseudoscience people make up; “Hey interracial dating “expert”, gimme some advice on Black girls” and then people actual make up there philosophies… it’s pretty ridiculous… I mean lemme demonstrate, y’all got people on this site who ask questions like, “what type of gifts do I get a Black girl? This is my first Black girlfriend, what do I get her?”… like y’all serious with that question?

Tell me please.skin analyzerMaikang There is still a deep cultural divide between black and white in the United States. The races tend to self-segregate extremely well without any help from Jim Crow or Uncle Sam. The reasons for this are obvious, and the results of it are far reaching. One of the results is that black women and white men do not get together very often at all. I grew up in Houston, a town with a million black people and three million whites, and can count on one hand the number of black female/white male couples I saw.

The fact that black women and white men don’t mingle socially is reason number 1 why black women aren’t on the dating radar of most white guys. Consider this the immediate corollary of racial self-segregation. This is what perpetuates the whole “fear of the unknown” on both sides of the divide.

Second, most white men are under the impression that black women have *extremely* negative opinions of them. White men grow up hearing black women call white men “slave masters,” “crackers,” “white boys,” and those are the least offensive epithets. At a deeper level, most white men feel that black women consider them unmasculine, just as black women feel that white men consider them unfeminine. White men don’t want to go where they aren’t wanted, so they consciously avoid even hinting of any attraction to black women. We don’t like having our egos stomped on, so we don’t go there.

Third, we often feel like a second option for black women who are aggrieved at their issues with black men. No one wants to be someone’s fallback plan, so that won’t work. Some black women feel like they’re doing white men a favor by looking their way, and they seem to want royal consideration in return for giving white men the time of day. We’re not interested in you just because you decided you’re tired of black men and want to branch out. We don’t want to be fetishized any more than black women.

Fourth, we don’t like the anger we see in so many black women. We’re put off by it, and frankly, we don’t know how to handle it. It’s a nightmare of men of every race to be married to an angry, emasculating woman, and that’s what a lot of black women seem to be. This is obviously a stereotype, but stereotypes don’t come from nowhere. The “angry black woman” is common enough to have become an accepted stereotype.

Fifth, attractive black women tend to be the most arrogant of all women. All attractive women are stuck up to some degree, but black women top them all. Self-confidence is great, but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Try to approach an attractive black woman if you’re not an NFL All-Pro and see what happens.

That said, physically, black women are like any other race. Some are drop-dead gorgeous, some are hideous, and most are somewhere in between. The real thing keeping the races apart is cultural self-segregation, period. Black women are women and white men are men, and if you removed those barriers there would be a lot more coupling going on in the US. A tip to black women who are interested in white guys: stop the white-guy bashing and start interacting with white guys on a friendly level.
