Maikang No that is not her point. She is trying to draw a political, cultural distinction between the majority of voters and Obama. If the voters truly knew that Obama was a progressive (which he admits by the way) they would not vote for him. But Obama is trying to get votes from independents so he tries to sound like he shares the beliefs of the majority of the people. This is the “silent majority” principle, which existed before Obama ran for president. She could apply the same about any democrat liberal candidate. Simply put, the majority of voters at least in the past are in the middle of the political spectrum, and Obama is to the left definitively. Obama could counter that by saying that Palin is a right wing extremist, so it’s fair.
